South Whiteshell Summer Classic Contest
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
BY REGISTERING AND PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, YOU AGREE WITH AND CONSENT TO BE SUBJECT TO AND BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS.
CONTEST PERIOD:
1. The Contest will be conducted from 12:00 AM Central Time (CT) on may 15th, 2010 through 11:59:59 PM CT on September 3rd, 2010 (the "Contest Period"). There will be a fish-off for finalists between September 10th, 2010 and September 30th, 2010.
ELIGIBILITY:
2. To enter and be eligible to win, a person (the “Participant”) must have a valid email address, register as a member of Angling Masters International (“AMI”) (free registration through AMI’s website at www.anglingmasters.com) and have reached the age of 14, or have the expressed written consent of their parent or guardian. Individuals are not eligible to participate and win prizes in the Contest if they are, during the period of the Contest, an employee, agent, director or officer of the Falcon Lake Marina, AMI, or any related entities or individuals, including any person domiciled with any of the above.
HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST:
3. To enter this Contest, the Participant must:
a. go to the Falcon Lake Marina, pay you’re registration fee ($40) and receive your official AMI Measuring tape.
b. access the AMI website at www.anglingmasters.com, click on "Build Cabin" on the AMI Homepage, and follow the instructions to register for a "Cabin", if you have not already done so. A "Cabin" is a space on the website where you can upload your favourite fishing photos in your album, add photographs of fish you have caught to your virtual livewell, find out how you rank against other anglers in your area and build your own network of fishing buddies. There is a limit to one cabin per person for the Contest;
c. once a Participant has their own "Cabin", go to http://www.anglingmasters.com/flm to enter the Contest, read these Official Rules and Regulations, follow the instructions to register, and receive your unique PIN. There is a limit to one PIN per person for the Contest;

HOW TO ENTER YOUR CATCHES IN THE CONTEST
4. You are now ready to enter catches in the Contest. To submit an entry in the Contest, you must enter three (3) photographs of an eligible fish you have caught legally on one of the following lakes: Falcon Lake, West Hawk Lake, Star Lake, Barren Lake, Caddy Lake, South Cross Lake, North Cross Lake.
i. take one (1) photograph clearly showing the entire length of your catch with the tail spread with your official measuring tape clearly showing your unique PIN;
ii. take one (1) photograph of a close up of the head of your catch with your official measuring tape clearly showing your PIN; and
iii. take one (1) photograph of your catch with you alone and with the background of the lake/river clearly visible.
(all photographs must show the left side of the fish)
iiii. RELEASE THE FISH, all fish entered must be live released at the location of the catch.
PHOTO ENTRIES must not infringe third-party rights and must be suitable for publication (i.e., may not be deemed obscene or indecent which will be determined in the sole discretion of the Contest Judges.)
ELIGIBLE FISH SPECIES INCLUDE: Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye and Lake Trout.
WITNESS: All fish entered must have been witnessed by someone who can be reached by the tournament director and can vouch for the size and location of the catch. It is the angler’s responsibility to prove that the fish was caught on an eligible lake, and within the regulations of the tournament. If this cannot be demonstrated the fish will not be eligible for entry.
ALL FISH: Must be entered in the same week that they are caught
Follow the instructions to upload the photographs to the "Livewell" in your "Cabin" on AMI’s website and select the click-box to identify your entry photographs. You must have a witness to your catching of any fish photographed and submitted as an entry. If you do not have access to the internet then you can upload electronic photos at the Falcon Lake or Faloma Beach Marina
PRIZES:
4. In this Contest the prizes available to be won, with an estimated approximate total value of $7000.00 CAD include the following:
a (16) Weekly Prizes: tba (A single contestant will only be eligible to win one of the weekly prizes)
b. 2 monthly prizes: tba (A single contestant will only be eligible to win one of the Monthly prizes
c.(1) Super fish prize for the biggest fish caught all season
d. (1) best livewell prize for the best 5 fish points over the whole season
e. (1) Grand Prize and Championship Title: All 16 weekly winners, the 4 monthly winners, the big fish winner and the best livewell winner will fish-off during September for the 2010 South Whiteshell GrandMasters Cup title. The winner will be immortalized as the First Annual South Whiteshell Summer Classic Champion and their name will be inscribed on a plaque at the Falcon Lake Marina. There will be prizes for the winner(s) including a new Lowe Boat with Mercury Motor and more to be announced. September Fish Off entrant will submit a three (3) day window by September 7th, 2010 when they will fish-off between September 10th, 2010 and September 30th, 2010 at midnight, with their best five fish, among the eligible species, submitted as their entry to compete for the Grand Masters Cup. Winner is determined by the best five fish by points (with a minimum of two species caught and entered during the fish-off in September.
The weekly periods from which weekly winners will be chosen during the main 20 week competition have been set on a Saturday to Friday schedule. The first week will start on Saturday, May 15th, 2010 at 12:00:01 AM CT and end on Friday, April 21st, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM CT. Each subsequent weekly period will follow this schedule and end on Friday, September 3rd, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM CT.
SELECTION OF PRIZE WINNERS:
5. At the end of each daily and weekly entry period, as outlined above, all eligible entries entered will be reviewed and judged by the Contest Judges and one (1) weekly prize winner will be selected for each respective period. The weekly prize winner will be selected based on the highest cumulative points scored among the three (3) best fish entered during the respective weekly entry period. Each of the 16 weekly prize winners will be entered as a finalist to compete for the Grand Prize (as outlined above) in the September fish-off. The AMI Calculator is based on mathematical algorithms that have been developed by AMI for the twelve eligible freshwater species in different geographic areas (including Manitoba). The points system takes into consideration the size each species typically grows to in each geographic area and scores them independently. The algorithms equalize the playing field to make it possible to have cross-species rankings. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by determining which entry was submitted first as recorded on the AMI website. A potential winner, as well as the witness(es) to the catching of their entry (or entries), may be subject to an interview by the Contest Judges to determine the authenticity of the submitted entries, and a potential winner may be disqualified if the entries have not complied with these rules, or have been falsified in any way.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE:
6. Potential prize winners will be contacted by e-mail, telephone, mail or in person with instructions on how to claim their prize as determined by AMI and SWSC, including providing required identification, signing any waivers and releases requested and responding within a prescribed period of time. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, declines to accept the prize, the prize is returned undeliverable or is determined to be ineligible the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner, in the sole discretion of the Contest Judges. Winners should allow approximately 6 – 8 weeks for verification and shipment of their prize, alternatively prizes will be awarded in person at the Falcon Lake Marina, The Contest Judges reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Taxes, if any, are the winner's responsibility. Prizes won by minors will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their names, addresses, voices, statements photographs or other likenesses relating to the Contest by AMI, SWSC and the Falcon Lake Marina without further compensation or permission, in any publicity carried out, except where prohibited by law.
OWNERSHIP & USE OF ENTRY:
7. By submitting a Contest entry the Participant agrees to assign to GMCI and AMI the entry submitted (including all right, title and interest embodied therein) and provides consent for SWSC and AMI and their designees to use, at their sole discretion, the entry and all elements of such entry, including, without limitation, the names and likenesses of any persons or locations embodied therein, in any and all media now known or not currently known, throughout the world in perpetuity without permission, notification or compensation, to entrant or any third party.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
8. All participants must adhere to the sport-fishing regulations in force in the province of Manitoba while participating in this Contest, including obtaining applicable fishing licenses and stamps and must follow all boating and other regulations. Any violation of the above will invalidate any entry.
9. By entering this Contest, the Participant acknowledges having read these rules and agrees to be bound by them and that the decisions of the Contest Judges are final and binding with respect to all aspects of the Contest. In the event of non-compliance with these rules, prizes will be forfeited and an alternative winner may be selected.
10. If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address provided at the time of entry.
11. SWSC and AMI, through the Falcon Lake Marina do not warrant that access to or use of the service will be uninterrupted. SWSC and AMI are not responsible for any problems that may arise due to participation in the Contest through the use of AMI’s website or otherwise, including but not limited to communications failed, misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions or hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, failure of personal computers and/or software and hardware configurations, any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties or damage to a user's system.
12. SWSC and AMI shall not be responsible for any entries or claims disqualified, that are lost, misplaced, delayed or destroyed for any reason, including, without limitation, as a result of negligence, gross negligence, wilful misconduct or otherwise.
13. All the entries received become the sole property of SWSC and AMI and in no case shall be returned to the sender. No correspondence will be entered into except with potential winners who may be contacted by telephone, email, mail or in person. Entry materials that have been tampered with, altered or modified in any way may be declared, at the sole and discretion of the Contest Judges, void and any claim to any prize in the Contest will be forfeited.
14. Participants and/or winners assume all liability for injuries or damages caused, or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, by the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded, including but not limited to claims of damages for personal injury, death or property damage. Further, by registering or participating in the Contest, the participant fully releases the organizers, administrators, sponsors and any entity involved with the promotion of this Contest, including SWSC, AMI, The Falcon Lake Marina and their respective related companies and departments and all of their employees, agents, suppliers, executive, directors and representatives, regarding any injuries, accidents, damages, loss or misfortune related to the conduct of the Contest or occasioned by them in participating in the Contest.
GENERAL:
15. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual, to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest, including but not limited to any fraudulent claims, is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, SWSC and AMI reserve the right to seek remedies and damages from any such individual, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Participants engaging in any of the foregoing activities will be disqualified and will forfeit any prizes won.
16. SWSC and AMI reserve the right to suspend, cancel or modify the terms of the Contest at any time, if it determines that for any reason the Contest cannot be run as originally planned or if fraud or any other occurrence compromises the fairness or integrity of the Contest.
17. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of all participants in this Contest shall be governed by the laws of the province of Manitoba.
18. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules and Regulations shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules and Regulations shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provisions were not contained herein.
19. By entering the Contest, the Participant consents to the manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy outlined on the AMI website.
20. No prize will be awarded to any participant who fails in any way to comply fully with these Official Rules, as determined by the exclusive discretion of the Contest Judges.
